VASH Hawaiʻi Island

Helping Visitors with the Aloha Spirit

The Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaiʻi Island (VASH) shares the Aloha spirit with visitors facing adversity. Even though vacations should be happy times, unfortunate events can still happen. Furthermore, when people are far from home, they often lack access to their own support systems and resources.

How VASH Assists Travelers

Consequently, VASH Hawaiʻi Island helps visitors cope with and recover from many difficult situations. For instance, we provide support for lost documents, crime, medical emergencies, or the death of a loved one.

In addition, VASH receives referrals from the Hawaiʻi County Police Department and local hospitals. Because we evaluate each situation individually, we can offer the most appropriate support services for every traveler.

The Role of Our Volunteers

Volunteers represent the true heart of VASH Hawaiʻi Island. Specifically, these trained and compassionate individuals contribute their time and talents to help those in need. As a result of their generous help and aloha, VASH assists hundreds of visitors every single year.

Support Our Nonprofit Mission

VASH Hawai'i Island operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Currently, the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority and the County of Hawaiʻi provide partial funding for our work. However, we also rely heavily on community donations.
Tax-deductible donations and in-kind gifts are always welcome.
