The mission of VASH Hawaiʻi Island is to share the Aloha Spirit with visitors affected by adversity.
We recognize that unfortunate events can and do happen even while visiting paradise. Unfortunately, visitors who are far from home usually do not have access to their support systems. VASH Hawaiʻi Island was created to help visitors cope with and recover from various undesirable situations such as crime, illness, injury, lost items, stranded, or even the death of a loved one.
VASH Hawaiʻi Island referrals typically come from the Hawai'i County Police Department, local area hospitals, airport security, hotel security, and other visitor industries. Each visitor's situation and needs are assessed case-by-case to offer the appropriate supportive services.
