Production Equipment includes broadcast quality Betacam SP cameras, recorders and post-production facilities that include Betacam Sp, DVCAM, DV and a Discreet Edit nonlinear editing system. Big Island Television is a subsidiary of Ackerman-Black Productions established in 1985, telecasting on Channel 7 of the Sun Cablevision System of Hawaii. Big Island Television has been telecasting visitor information and local programming to the residents and visitors of West Hawaii since its inception. Big Island Television was awarded Kahili Awards in 1993 & 1994 for local programming. Fishing Tales with Mike Sakamoto was originated and produced by Ackerman-Black Productions since 1986. Fishing Tales is a half-hour, Pacific Basin fishing program telecast on Oceanic Cable systems to a state wide audience on a weekly basis. Fishing Tales is also currently broadcasting in England and Japan. Broadcast Clients have included ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, ESPN, KGMB, KHON, KITV, Inside the PGA, Discovery and the Travel Network.
